The Police Memorial Trust of New Zealand is working to develop, fund and establish a national memorial in Wellington to commemorate fallen New Zealand Police staff.
To develop, fund and establish a national New Zealand Police memorial to commemorate fallen New Zealand Police staff. For the benefit of the community and in appreciation of the sacrifice made by the fallen.

Families and communities have no dedicated space to gather, reflect and commemorate those who died serving their community.
Limited access
The Memorial Wall at the Royal New Zealand Police College is not accessible to the public or families, and commemorates only those killed by a criminal act.

National Police Remembrance Day
29 September
Each year, New Zealand joins other nations in honouring Police staff who have died in service. The Huia Pin, designed by the New Zealand Police Association in partnership with NZ Police, is the symbol of Police remembrance in New Zealand. Staff and members of the Police family wear the pin to honour the memory of those who have given their lives.
Huia e! Huia tangata kotahi. He tōtara kua hinga. The feather of the huia, for someone special. One dearly departed.
